The Wolverines have been rolling in the 2026 recruiting class, but it might not be long before Michigan football has its first 2027 commitment.

It could also come from a name that's familiar: Esposito.

That's Louis Eposito, a 6-foot-5, 260-pound offensive tackle from Saline, Michigan. Esposito, is the son of Michigan defensive line coach Lou Esposito. He earned an offer from the Wolverines recently and now, according to EJ Holland of The Wolverine, and other experts, Esposito should be joining the 2027 Michigan football recruiting class.

Holland and Ethan McDowell have each put in projections with the Rivals/On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine for the Wolverines to land the in-state recruit.

It's hard to predict exactly when Esposito will commit. It feels like it might be sooner, rather than later, or at least soon enough that he's the first commitment of the 2027 class.

Holland was quick to note that this has nothing to do with the fact that Louis Eposito's father is the defensive line coach. Michigan evaluated him, and the kid has a nasty streak, which isn't all that surprising.

His attitude, and his ability, which is particularly impressive in the running game, will be a perfect fit for the Michigan football offensive line.

Esposito has 14 total offers. Four of those are from Power-4 programs with Louisville, Pittsburgh, and Purdue each offering.

Esposito is ranked No. 510 overall, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings in the 2027 class. He's ranked as the ninth-best player in the state of Michigan, and would a be solid building-block for the Wolverines 2027 class.
