These days, a commitment doesn't carry the same weight that it used to. Without National Letters of Intent and a transfer portal that could make use of a frequent-flyer program, prospects and players are constantly leaving the program they initially committed to.
However, when five-star EDGE Carter Meadows committed to the Michigan Wolverines, it seemed as close to a lock-down recruitment as possible.
That was until the Ohio State Buckeyes began circling once again, and Meadows suddenly appeared on the flip-watch list of some of the top recruiting experts in the country.
Recently, Steve Wiltfong, a recruiting expert and the Vice President of On3 and Rivals, shared that Wolverine fans should prepare themselves for the Buckeyes to put forward one final push to flip Meadows' commitment from Michigan to their most bitter rivals.
"He is solid to Michigan right now, committed to the Maize and Blue over Ohio State, Penn State, and South Carolina," Wiltfong started. "But that's another one, where I feel like if Ohio State sees some daylight to squeeze back in, they'll certainly try to make a move with Carter Meadows."
Will Carter Meadows flip his commitment?
Currently, On3 and Rivals give the Wolverines a 93.7 percent chance to hold onto Meadows' commitment, so it isn't time to hit the panic button quite yet.
However, with the Buckeyes and the Penn State Nittany Lions projected to have top-five caliber seasons, Michigan should get ready to put a few more eggs in the Meadows basket.

So far, Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore has brought in the No. 10 nationally ranked recruiting class of 2026, highlighted by Meadows and five-star running back Savion Hiter. The Wolverines are just two spots behind the Buckeyes, who are currently No. 8 in the country, and seven spots ahead of Penn State, which is No. 17 in the nation.
Meadows most recently visited the Wolverines on June 20, just over a week before he committed to Michigan and just a few days after visiting the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions.
