Michigan has found itself battling a lot of teams on the recruiting trail this cycle, but it seems as of late, there has been one team nagging the Wolverines more than usual. Mike Elko and Texas A&M have gone head-to-head with Kyle Whittingham and Michigan for a few different recruits in the 2027 cycle, and a four-star wide receiver has just named both schools as his top two.

6-foot-4, 210-pound wide receiver Damani Warren has narrowed his list down to Michigan and Texas A&M. In all honesty, these two programs have been the leaders for a while in terms of Warren's recruitment, and now the Las Vegas native has made it official.

Warren took an official visit to College Station back at the beginning of the month on June 5, and will head to Ann Arbor on the busiest weekend of the summer for the Wolverines, Victor Weekend. June 19 is when Michigan will host over 20 recruits, some of its biggest targets of the 2027 cycle.

Texas A&M and Michigan were not the only two schools after the blue-chip wide receiver, as the talented wide receiver received 41 total offers from major football programs. Multiple Power 4 teams were after Warren, including an offer from Michigan's biggest rival, Ohio State.

Any time Michigan can take a lead on a recruit over the Buckeyes is a good time in the eyes of Wolverines fans. Warren is not the only recruit, though, that Michigan is keeping an eye on when it comes to competing with Texas A&M.

Five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson is also high on Texas A&M, but Michigan is heavily in the mix as well. Dobson is set to make his visit to Ann Arbor this weekend, just before Warren makes his, and has one final official visit on June 19 to South Carolina.

Just like Warren, it is believed Texas A&M and Michigan are also the frontrunners for Dobson's recruitment, even though his home-state schools, Clemson and South Carolina, are making a push as well. Both players would be a great addition to Whittingham's 2027 recruiting class, one that is No. 10 in the nation according to Rivals Team Rankings.

Whittingham currently has 16 recruits in the Class of 2027, with a good mix of offensive and defensive players. Warren and Dobson would be great additions on both sides of the ball and could even help that ranking for Michigan in terms of recruits.

Warren has yet to set a formal commitment date, but one could come quickly after his trip to Ann Arbor in a few weeks.
