Michigan football will reportedly be without star CB Will Johnson vs. Michigan State
On Friday night, we learned who Michigan football will have as its starting quarterback against the Michigan State Spartans -- Davis Warren.
The other question hanging over the Wolverines going into tonight's game is whether or not Will Johnson will play on Saturday night.
As it turns out, according to Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports -- the same reporter who revealed that Warren would start for the Wolverines, Johnson will be out tonight.
Johnson has been battling injuries for most of the season. Even against USC, which was arguably his best performance of the season, he had to miss the end of the game due to injury. He was also limited last week against Illinois.
Johnson was pushing to play. But it will be at least another week before Johnson is able to return to the starting lineup for Michigan football.
Good injury news for Michigan football
There was one piece of injury news that is positive for Michigan football as Zenitz also reported that Myles Hinton will be good to go at left tackle.
Hinton has missed the last two games. Jeffrey Persi has started in his place. Now, the Wolverines can play their preferred tackle on the right side. It feels like it could be Persi or Andrew Gentry. My hope is that it's not Evan Link.
Davis Warren is a passing quarterback and he needs the two best pass-protecting left tackles on the roster which are probably Hinton and either Persi or Gentry. It's slim pickings but unless some of the younger guys grow up quick, it is what it is.
