Michigan football expected to start Davis Warren at quarterback
The Wolverines are taking another turn on the quarterback carousel as according to Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports, Michigan football will go back to Davis Warren for the rivalry game against MSU.
Some fans might disagree with the move. We'll see. But there have been some rumors about injury issues once again with Jack Tuttle. But even if he's healthy, he hasn't been the answer. Tuttle has been turnover-prone and hasn't thrown the ball better than Davis Warren.
Warren has thrown interceptions on eight percent of his pass attempts. That's way too high. But he's also sat on the bench for the past four games. Sometimes, sitting and watching can help you learn from your mistakes and hopefully, that's the case with Warren.
Why Davis Warren deserves to start
The one thing about Warren is that he has the best arm of any of the three quarterbacks. He also got the most of out of Colston Loveland who caught 16 passes for 150 yards in the first two games with Warren as the starting quarterback.
My hope is that Alex Orji actually has a role. He could use a series or too. Teams have to play Michigan differently when Orji is in the game and make no mistake, Michigan needs to run the ball to win the game.
Just like Ohio State, this rivalry comes down, usually, to the team that runs the ball better. So Warren needs to protect the ball and the Wolverines need to use whatever means possible to get the running game going.
