Who Can Sherrone Moore Trust on his Staff

After Saturday disdain among the fan base has turned up the temperature on Sherrone Moore's seat. While I think it's ridiculous to speculate about moving on from him after just one year, this team looks lost and that has to point back to the coaching, specifically the head coach. Warde Manuel also doesn't have the strongest history of making great and sound decisions when it comes to retaining or moving on from coaches.

I don't think there should be any pressure on Sherrone's job yet, but I think that he has to figure out something with this staff ahead of next season. The offense has looked abismal. There is no clear plan, identity, or creativity. Sure, there are talent problems, but the talent that is here just isn't being put in a position to succeed. I think that Sherrone has to really challenge his coaching staff, specifically on the offensive side of the ball, to figure some things out before the end of the season. If things don't improve, it might be time for Sherrone to move on and rebuild his staff next year. The next few weeks have to be a test of who stays and who goes.

I still think that Michigan football made the right hire in Sherrone Moore. It's going to take a year or two for him to really build this program his way before we can fully judge him. I think that there needs to be patience when it comes to expectations around this program. But at the same time, this is Michigan and the expectation is to be at the top every year. This program just has too many resources to struggle like this for long. The national championship is something to feel good about while this program rebuilds, but there isn't unlimited time to figure it out. There have to be steps taken in the right direction to close out this year and we have to see improvement soon.
