The word explosive has rarely been used to describe a Michigan football offense, but that's the only way to describe the way the Wolverines played on Saturday.

For the first time since 2016, Michigan football had over 600 total yards. Bryce Underwood became the first quarterback for Michigan to run for over 100 yards since Devin Gardner back in 2013, and the Wolverines scored eight rushing touchdowns, one shy of the school record.

It was a dominating performance, and the most exciting part of the way the Wolverines unleashed Bryce Underwood. Let Bryce be Bryce, as we said. It was great to see, and we start the Week 3 Michigan football stock report with the superstar quarterback.

Stock up: Bryce Underwood

Underwood's stock didn't drop at all last week, even with the loss to Oklahoma. You could tell the issues were more about the play-calling and offensive line.

The offensive line is still a concern. Michigan was down two starters in the Central Michigan game, and some of Underwood's runs were escaping early pressure. That won't be as easy to do this week.

Designed runs need to be part of the offense, such as the 22-yard touchdown run. It basically was QB power with Max Bredeson as the lead blocker. Those things open up lots of others because the defense knows it has to respect the legs of Underwood.

That right there is valuable. You'd like the one interception back. It was a freshman mistake. Bryce will learn from it and get better.

Yet, it's clear that Underwood's stock is on the rise. Jake Butt even posted on X that Underwood is even better than expected.

Greg Crippen: Stock up

The Michigan football center had a rough game against Oklahoma, and he wasn't alone. But the veteran told reporters last week that the offensive line would figure things out.

It was just Central Michigan, but Crippen lived up to those words. He had a solid game and was one of the highest-graded players for the Wolverines in the win, according to Pro Football Focus.

Crippen had a couple of nice reach blocks. He also held up well in pass protection. It would be nice to get Giovanni El-Hadi back this week. Yet, if Crippen can be solid, like Andrew Vastardis solid, this offensive line will take a nice step forward.

Stock up: Andrew Marsh

This game offered a glimpse of what the Michigan football freshman can bring to the offense. Marsh was ranked 116th overall in the 2026 class for a reason. He's dynamic. We started to see that against Central Michigan.

First, there was a 30-yard reception on a corner route down the field. Underwood threw a perfect ball and Marsh hauled it in, before scoring on a 23-yard end-around later.

That's two touches for 53 yards and a touchdown. Everyone is excited about Underwood, as they should be, but the potential of Marsh, which we saw a glimpse of on Saturday, is another thing that should have Michigan football fans excited.

Stock up: Jaishawn Barham at EDGE

Jaishawn Barham played EDGE on Saturday while TJ Guy was a healthy scratch. It was a good move as Barham produced two sacks. Derrick Moore, Cameron Brandt, and Zach Marshall got snaps, too, along some others.

It was sort of shocking to see Guy not play a snap. Like Moore, this is a proven pass rusher. He likely would have been drafted last April had he declared for the draft.

It's also true that Guy hasn't been the same player. Moore hasn't been either. The pass rush has been a problem and if the Wolverines don't get pressure on Dylan Raiola, they will have a tough time beating Nebraska.

Yet, with Barham on the EDGE, as a pass rusher, you feel a lot better about their chances. He can get to the quarterback and not just on blitzes.

Stock down: Dominic Zvada

Before the season, Zvada was supposed to be an X-factor for the Wolverines. Yet, he missed a field goal for the second straight week against Central Michigan.

There isn't a lack of confidence in Zvada. He'll be fine. But he has missed more field goals in 2025 than he did in all of 2024. The Wolverines also passed on a 55-yard attempt against Oklahoma.

Maybe he's human after all.
