The Bryce Underwood that Michigan football fans saw on Saturday is the Bryce Underwood that they have been expecting to see.
However, that wasn't the Underwood we saw against Oklahoma. He threw some stellar passes against the Sooners, but there was only one designed run call. He threw for under 150 yards.
Yet, some of that was the coaching staff, 'taking the air out of the ball" as Michigan football interim head coach Biff Poggi said after the 63-3 win. He said after the way Bryce Underwood played on Saturday, the Wolverines would never take the air out of the ball again.
Underwood accounted for three touchdowns in the win for Michigan football. He passed for 235 yards. He also rushed 114 times, including three runs of more than 20 yards.
The coaching staff made it more of an emphasis but even the true freshman said he didn't quite realize the impact he could have with his legs.
"I realized how much of a difference I can make if I use my legs way more," Underwood said via Brock Heilig.
It seems the Michigan coaching staff realized that, too. Some fans have given the credit to Poggi or offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, in the absence of Sherrone Moore, who is serving a two-game suspension.
However, Poggi made it clear that the changes were directed by Moore, who was with the team through Friday, and helped put together the game plan for Central Michigan, as well as Nebraska.

That will lead to more runs, and what we can only assume will be more amazing plays from Underwood, who Poggi said "might be Batman."
Win next week at Nebraska and the nickname might just stick.
