With how poorly Michigan's football season is going, the focus has shifted towards recruiting. The Wolverines are in dire need of a great recruiting class. Everybody knows about the pursuit of Bryce Underwood, but Michigan has plenty of other positions of need.
One of the most important is defensive back. The Wolverines have gone all in on defensive backs for their 2025 class. Despite it looking like elite safety Ivan Taylor is going to flip to Alabama, the Wolverines are still building their defensive back class.
Today, top 100 cornerback and Michigan football target Graceson Littleton committed to Texas. The Wolverines fought for his services but ultimately weren't able to win him over. Not all is lost, however, as the Wolverines will likely now shift their focus back towards in-state four-star cornerback Alex Graham.
Michigan football trending to land Alex Graham
Graham is currently committed to Colorado, but the belief throughout the cycle has been that if Michigan wants him, he'll be a Wolverine. With time running short in the 2025 class, the Wolverines are beginning to turn up the heat in their pursuit of Graham. It's unlikely that Michigan is going to find an elite corner at this point in the cycle. While it's possible, it's definitely unlikely.
Graham is not necessarily a compromise, however. He began the cycle ranked as a top 100 player, and seemingly has the potential to make a big impact at the college level. At 6'1, he has the size to be a great defensive back.
While Graham is listed as a safety, it appears that the staff prefers him as a cornerback. The Wolverines have solid depth at the safety position and are trending to flip Pitt commit and teammate of Bryce Underwood, Elijah Dotson. All in all, Michigan football should end the cycle with a great defensive back class. We'll see over the coming days/weeks if Michigan can land Graham. Go blue.
