Spring practices are underway for Michigan Football, which means Spring visits are beginning! This weekend, Michigan will play host to a plethora of top recruits in the nation. Let's get right into some of the biggest headlines of the weekend.

#1 Recruit back on campus

Michigan football is going all in for the #1 recruit in the country, offensive lineman Jackson Cantwell. We know how much Sherrone Moore loves his offensive linemen, and it appears Michigan is more than willing to do what it needs to do on the NIL front.

This is an unofficial visit for Cantwell, who already has an official visit to Ann Arbor scheduled for June 13-15. It's a great sign that he's visiting Ann Arbor, and we should get a good sense of where the Wolverines stand after this visit.

This is going to be an NIL heavy recruitment, and right now it seems that Michigan could be moving up towards the top of Cantwell's list. This'll be a very interesting one to follow.

Top 100 Galore

Michigan is playing host to a number of top 100 recruits this weekend. Some top names include five star EDGE Carter Meadows, EDGE Titan Davis, EDGE Jake Kreul, and tight end Ian Premer, with more top visitors scheduled throughout the week.

It's clear that Michigan football is prioritizing the trenches on both sides of the ball, especially defensively in the 2026 class. The Wolverines obviously landed an incredible offensive line class in 2025 and will look to do the same on the defensive side of the ball in 2026.

It's hard to remember a time when Michigan had a similarly talented slate of visitors in mid-March. In years past, this would be a good haul of top talent for the entirety of the Spring practice period. And this is just one weekend. Michigan football has a ton of other elite prospects visiting other weekends or making mid-week visits.

One such target is five-star wide receiver Calvin Russell, who arrived in Ann Arbor earlier this week. The Wolverines are recruiting at an extremely high level, and it's a very exciting time to follow recruiting. But one question remains with all these visits.

How many of these top prospects can Michigan football land?

At this point, there's really no telling. But it feels right to predict that they'll land more than last year, when the Wolverines landed seven according to 247. Obviously, seven is a hard number to beat. But Michigan football is an NIL powerhouse now and has tons of momentum. The fact that they're getting all of these top prospects on campus in March is extremely promising.

This isn't the Michigan football recruiting of the past. Things are looking up for the Wolverines, and it seems like top 5 classes could become much more regular now. Keep an eye out for any updates coming from these visits!
