It's no secret that Michigan football is in desperate need of an elite wide receiver. Wide receiver looks like it'll be the weakest spot on the 2025 roster, and the Wolverines haven't made any huge splashes in the transfer portal or on the recruiting trail yet. Luckily for Michigan, a new elite target just entered the 2026 class, as Ethan "Boobie" Feaster announced that he is reclassifying from the 2027 class to the 2026 class.

A Texas native, Feaster was ranked as the #1 receiver in the 2027 class. Michigan football was actively targeting him. Now that he's a 2026 recruit, the Wolverines will likely become more aggressive here. Although the Wolverines were not included in his recent top schools list, NIL has taken away a lot of the significance of those lists.

Michigan football is looking to spend big at the wide receiver position in 2026, as it needs to. Whoever Michigan decides to target is likely going to be offered a massive NIL package. The Wolverines just need to narrow down their target list.

Feaster should be a top target for Michigan football

I'd expect Michigan to increase communication with Feaster and see if they can arrange a visit. I'd also expect that Michigan is having conversations with the Ellisons to strategically allocate NIL funds for the cycle. If Feaster is moved to the top of the list for 2026, the Wolverines would likely have a great shot with him.

This is definitely one to watch as the cycle progresses. Having just moved into the 2026 class, this is going to be an accelerated recruitment, with each school trying to rapidly gain ground. Keep an eye out for any updates.
