Is some major recruiting news coming soon for the Michigan football team? That appears to be the case. While head man Sherrone Moore has his focus on keeping things rocking with the 2026 class, it looks like a 2027 playmaker is about to give him the news he's hoping for.
Quarterback Peter Bourque is one of the top signal-callers in the country for his class and he's no stranger to recruiting attention. On Saturday, though, insider Steve Wiltfong put in his official prediction for the Wolverines to land him. This would be a massive get for Moore and his staff:
FONG BOMB: Rivals’ @SWiltfong_ has logged an expert prediction for Michigan to land 2027 4-star QB Peter Bourque〽️

Michigan is now the favorite to land 4-star 2027 QB Peter Bourque
Every recruiting cycle, a top priority for Michigan is to get its QB on board as soon as possible. The Wolverines would surely check off that box if Bourque ends up pulling the trigger and announcing for UM. The 6-4, 190-pounder has picked up 28 offers thus far.
With a big junior year on the way for him, it's safe to assume he's going to pass 30 here in the near future. This spring, Penn State became the favorite to land his services, with a Crystal Ball prediction even going up on 247Sports for James Franklin to reel him in.
However, Michigan has picked up its efforts in recent months and now it's on the verge of capturing his coveted commitment. Per Rivals, Bourque is the No. 7 quarterback in the country. According to the 247Sports Composite, he's ranked four stars, the No. 6 QB and No. 75 player overall for '27.
There's no set timeframe for when Bourque is going to reveal his college choice, but usually when Wiltfong puts in a prediction like this, things move pretty quickly. Might we see Hayes Fawcett post a graphic this weekend or early next week? You can't rule that out. Big news for Moore and Michigan could be on the way sooner rather than later.
