Michigan football is already targeting a transfer portal WR for next season
It's pretty clear looking at the current Michigan football roster that the Wolverines are going to need to find some reinforcements in the transfer portal this offseason.
Most Michigan football fans are focused on the quarterback position. But there are plenty of other holes. You'll see a huge exodus on the defensive line. Will Johnson and Colston Loveland should be gone too, so Michigan needs to be smart with how it approaches the offseason.
One position that needs an upgrade is wide receiver. At defensive tackle and other positions, Michigan will have a drop-off. The question is how big of one. Yet, the wide receiver production has been atrocious.
Part of that has to do with the quarterback. Things have been inconsistent through six games and three different guys have already been called the starter. It feels like Jack Tuttle will stick but the offense needs more playmakers which is why offering former Indiana wide receiver Donavan McCulley.
Michigan football target transfer WR already
McCulley didn't play much this season for Indiana and got injured. He will have one season left in 2025. He announced that he was entering the portal and Michigan football was one of eight teams to reach out to McCulley, who used to also play QB.
Last season, the dynamic wideout caught 48 passes for 644 yards and six touchdwns. He only caught two passes before deciding to redshirt and transfer this season, but it's good to see the Wolverines reach out.
They need to replenish the talent on this roster next season and adding a guy like McCulley to the wide receiver room is exactly what the Wolverines need. Unfortunately, there will be short shortage of competition as according to Chris Hummer of 247 Sports, 13 teams have already been in contact including Alabama.
