After a disappointing loss for Michigan football against USC, the only thing for the Wolverines to do is turn their attention to Washington.

Luckily, the Wolverines will be at home this week. They won't be the team taking the cross-country trip, although that feels more like an excuse. Ohio State didn't have a problem winning in Seattle, just like Indiana didn't have an issue going to Oregon and winning.

Good teams win on the road. Average teams don't. Michigan feels more like an average team than an elite team. Washington will be another test. The Wolverines have opened as a 5.5-point favorite against the Huskies, who are 5-1 after a dominant win over Rutgers.

Washington's only loss was against Ohio State. The final score was 24-7, but it was closer than that indicated. The Huskies just struggled in the red zone. The over/under for Saturday's contest is 50.5. The moneyline is -205 for Michigan and +170 for Washington.

Justice Haynes injury update

One hugely positive update for Michigan football in its quest to bounce back from the loss to USC is the fact that Sherrone Moore said that he "feels good" about Justice Haynes playing on Saturday.

The former five-star running back opened his career with five consecutive 100-yard games. He was off to a good start against USC, with 51 yards on 10 rushing attempts. Yet, he suffered an injury in the second quarter and didn't return.

Michigan was out-rushed by the Trojans 224-109. Not having Haynes, who has been as good as any running back in college football, was certainly part of that.
