Michigan football picked up two commitments over the weekend, and you can feel the momentum starting to build on the recruiting trail.

That momentum could continue to build this week as one of the Wolverines' top targets in the 2026 class, Javian Osborne, will announce his commitment on Saturday.

Michigan football has been trending the wrong way in this recruitment. It's more that Notre Dame has been trending up. The Irish have overtaken the Wolverines according to the On3 prediction machine, which has Notre Dame as a heavy favorite ahead of Saturday's announcement.

The crystal ball projections are even between Michigan and Notre Dame for the 5-foot-10, 200-pound running back ranked 90th overall in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Yet, the Wolverines haven't had a projection for Osborne since February. Notre Dame has a 70 percent chance of winning Osborne's commitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, so don't expect this one to go Michigan's way, but you never know.

In other news, Michigan football is trending up in the recruitment of four-star EDGE Samu Moala, who told Chad Simmons of On3.com he plans to take an official visit to Ann Arbor, even though he is currently committed to Texas A&M.

Notre Dame, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, and USC are all in the mix, along with the Wolverines. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound EDGE is ranked 240th overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings,

Moala is from California, which gives Michigan a better shot at a flip than if he were from Texas. The Wolverines have also made a strong impression on him according to Ethan McDowell of The Wolverine.

Michigan hasn't gotten Moala on campus for a visit yet but an official visit would be a good place to start.
