The first 15 minutes were all Michigan State. They captured the upper hand on their second drive after missing a field goal on their initial series. Nate Carter found paydirt and things were looking dim for Michigan football once again.

Late in the second is when things started clicking for Michigan's offense. Kirk Campbell drew up some nifty plays that left the Spartans searching for answers. Davis Warren lofted it up to his tight end for a 10-yard touchdown pass to Colston Loveland, for the first of his two touchdowns on the night. The extra point was mishandled.

About 15 seconds later, Aidan Chiles was trying to extend the play by scrambling out of the pocket and he was stripped of the football by Josiah Stewart. Kenneth Grant recovered and Michigan football stole the lead at halftime with three points.

Michigan's first drive of the third went the distance for six. Alex Orji cut it outside past the tackle to find a hole and score. The Spartans responded with a field goal and Michigan football held a six-point advantage heading into the deciding quarter.

That's where they went up by two scores as Donovan Edwards passed it to a wide-open Loveland with around 13 minutes remaining. The Spartans took a lot of time off the clock with their next possession but wound up in the endzone. After punting Michigan State got it inside the red zone, but failed to convert on downs and Michigan burned out the clock for its third straight over their hated neighbor.

Here are three of three takeaways from the blissful win for Michigan football over little brother.
