Michigan Football: 3 overreactions from the Oregon loss
By Nick Popio
3.The recruiting class will begin to decommit in masses soon
As distressing as this season has gone so far, recruiting has not suffered. It has been thriving. The Carter Smith decommitment was blindsiding, but in this day and age what else would anyone expect from a teenager? If these coaches can somehow land the No. 1 recruit and a top-five class, all will be forgiven in the blink of an eye.
That makes this an overreaction for now, but it remains in a holding pattern until signing day. The Wolverines just flipped a Georgia commit. That never happens or usually ends up going the other way. They are favored to flip a couple of more names and are not apologizing for their troubles on the field in the meantime.
The NIL has obviously improved and if they can nab Bryce Underwood, then they can compete with anyone in the country. Sherrone Moore's job and reputation are on the line and he is not planning on failing no matter how many losses he piles up. Warde Manuel's patience paid off with a championship last time, and similar success could arrive with that same tolerance.
