On Sunday, we found out what the fallout from the postgame fiasco in Michigan's fourth consecutive victory over the Buckeyes would be. Both schools were fined 100,000, but no suspensions were announced as of yet. Overall it was a really bad scene for the sport, but it's exactly what Rivalry Week encapsulates. It didn't just happen in Columbus either. Multiple fights broke out all over the country. The Michigan/Ohio State scuffle just got the most attention.
Here are three of the most outrageous overreactions from around the web following the wondrous Michigan football win in Columbus.
1. Gus Johnson is a disgrace for his commentary
When the game was decided on Saturday afternoon Gus Johnson decided to make some snarky remarks about Michigan football beating Ohio State again. He made a cheating joke about Sherrone Moore and was appalled by the fact that Michigan wanted to plant a flag in the middle of the field.
As much as I disagree with Gus, I still have to say that this is an overreaction. Gus is one of my personal favorites and most people like him. He wasn't thinking about the time when Baker Mayfield did the same thing in the shoe or when Texas and Oregon went into the Big House and claimed their territory after their wins in Ann Arbor weeks ago. Nor did he recall when the Ohio State band made a disrespectful gesture with a Michigan flag during their halftime show not too long ago.
I will give Johnson the benefit of the doubt this time, but that's not a good look for him. I believe most people will forget about what he said in about a week anyway, except Michigan football fans of course.
