3. Jake Butt was too biased on the broadcast

Michigan State fans probably had a conniption fit when they realized that a former Wolverine great would be on the call for the Big Ten network. This was his first oppurtunity for him to call the game since he was playing in it.

For the most part, Butt was fair to both sides. He did complain about the substitutions that Michigan State was being allowed to make, but not Michigan football. The referee was not letting the Wolverines snap it and get a penalty called on the Spartans for too many men on the field. It certainly happened more than once during the meeting.

At the end of the broadcast, Butt referred to Michigan State as "little brother" and the green and white took offense to it.

I can't speak for Jake, a Michigan football great, but I would imagine that he was just living in the moment after his alma mater won a meaningful contest over an opponent they love to beat. To say that he was one-sided on the call is an overreaction. Butt did a fine job and Spartan loyalists are visibly upset for a logical reason.
