For the first time this season, the Michigan football team didn't turn the ball over in an excruciating fashion that cost them dearly. Donovan Edwards exclaimed that they practiced ball security all week and it worked for them.

Davis Warren wasn't flashy, but after he missed Colston Loveland on his first pass attempt, he reeled off 10 consecutive completions that helped gain Michigan the lead until the 60 minute clock expired.

These are three overreactions from the unflappable win over little brother.

1. Will Johnson quit on his team

Before the game reports started pouring in that Michigan's All-American cornerback would not be suiting up on Saturday night. Then, as expected, the tweets began rolling in that he made a "business decision" and quit on his teammates and coaches.

If you go back to earlier in the week coach Moore said that he was battling an injury and was questionable to play. To clarify, it was a lower leg injury that forced him to miss most of the Illinois loss. Whether you believe him or not Johnson is surely thinking about his future as a projected top five pick, but to call him a quitter is absolutely classless. This is an overreaction.

In his absence, Jyaire Hill had another stellar performance and Aamir Hall wasn't even mentioned, which turned out to be a positive if you focus solely on Michigan State's passing stats.
