Michigan Football: 3 overreactions from the Indiana loss
By Nick Popio
2. Indiana's 2024 team is better then Michigan's 2023 team
Indiana fans have been squawking about how they are better then Michigan's championship team from a year ago. They say that they are averaging more points per game on offense and are comparable to them in other areas. This is a blatant overreaction. Indiana is not going to win the national title, unless chaos ensues, but definitley should make the playoff.
Both benefited from softer schedules, but Indiana hasn't beaten anyone of note yet, while the Wolverines knocked out three top-five teams in the last four games and went on the road to tame the Nittany Lions. They also did it in a four-team playoff, compared to the new 12-team format that begins next month. It's hard to make a case that the Hoosiers will go into Columbus and win after Saturday's near collapse.
Indiana doesn't have any five star recruits with this bunch misfits and we won't know how many NFL draftees they possess until April. Indiana's brand is not on the same level as Michigan's either. So in the above tweet, Tony could be referring to the fact that Indiana is not ranked high enough, but that will change on Tuesday when the latest rankings come out.
