Ever since Kyle Whittingham took over as the Michigan football head coach, there has been a renewed sense of positive energy.
It got pretty dark before Whittingham took over with the whole Sherrome Moore fiasco. Michigan needed an adult in the room. However, it got much more than that in Whittingham.
Whittingham put together an extremely consistent run of winning. Even Urban Meyer has talked about what a great hire it was. Michigan fell into an upgrade, you might say.
Jordan Marshall, the Michigan football starting running back, or the projected starting running back, continued to heap praise on the new head coach.
Jordan Marshall says Michigan head coach Kyle Whitting has the "it" factor
"I think he can reach a lot of our players, but also push a lot of our players. That’s what’s really special about him," Marshall said via the Big Moe Podcast. "He looks at the game so differently. To see his passion, even when he walks around the building, and his enthusiasm — I sit there and I have conversation with him, and I'm just like, 'This guy has the it factor.'
That makes Whittingham sound a little like Jim Harbaugh. That vibe was there during the spring, too. Whittingham is just a big-time head coach. There's a reason he has won so many games, and he often did it without the talent advantages that he will be afforded at Michigan.
That's the reason the long-time head coach said he couldn't pass up the job. After listening to Marshall talk, which isn't the first time, it sounds like it's been a perfect fit.
