Michigan State guard Jeremy Fears Jr. is a dirty player. The Wolverines' game against the Spartans was yet another example.
With hard hits, specifically aimed kicks, and a clear issue with controlling his emotions, Fears has made a name for himself as one of the dirtiest players in college basketball. That continued to be true as he swung his leg back to kick Michigan's Elliot Cadeau in the groin.
And, this wasn't the first time this kind of incident has happened this season.

Dusty May has complained about Fears' recklessness, players have complained about it, and even Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo has complained about it.
Jeremy Fears Jr. kicks Elliot Cadeau in groin
When the two teams first met this season, Fears appeared to trip another Wolverine, Yaxel Lendeborg, and May had emphasized the fact that he thought the young guard's style of play was dangerous.
Today, after kicking Cadeau, Fears was rightfully handed a technical foul, and Lendeborg went to the line to sink both free throws.

Fears' foul against Cadeau obviously wasn't the first time he's been called for a dirty foul, and clearly, refs are learning to focus on the fact that he doesn't play cleanly, no matter how much Izzo complains about it.
"It's all because of what happened earlier and now the microscope's on him. And I don't like that."

Fans across the country have reacted to Fears' fouls, complaining about the fact that it shouldn't be part of the game, and takes away from the quality of matchups, much less the safety of players.

Kicking players in the groin isn't the only foul that Fears has been called for, either, repeatedly using unnecessary force and aggression against opponents throughout the season.

Can’t wait to see Jeremy Fears ASSAULT Yaxel tomorrow for the Michigan vs Michigan State game.

You know Izzo and Fears are going to try and be malicious tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/1GshvQT5RZ
The moral of the story is that Fears needs to be watched closely, and officials are finally starting to realize that now that the Big Ten and NCAA Tournaments are just around the corner.
