The Michigan basketball team arrived in Chicago on Thursday ahead of its Sweet 16 showdown with Alabama, taking part in practice in the United Center.
That place is familar to the Wolverines, who played three games in the Big Ten Tournament in Chicago last month, falling short in the championship game against Purdue, a team now in the Elite 8.
Michigan basketball can punch its ticket to the Elite 8 Friday night with a win over Alabama. The Crimson Tide are hot, though, having scored 90 or more points in each of its NCAA Tournament wins, something Michigan can also say, as U-M scored at least 95 in both of its wins last week.
There are plenty of reasons to worry about Alabama. For one, the Tide don't lack for talent. Their roster is loaded with former top-100 recruits. Plus, they are used to playing elite competition, and two years ago, reached the Final Four as a No. 4 seed, upsetting No. 1 UNC along the way.
Alabama also makes the second-most 3-point field goals in all of college basketball. They shoot more threes than anyone, too, which adds to the overall variance of the game.

Michigan doesn't seem to feel the pressure of being NCAA Tournament favorite
Michigan doesn't seem to be stressing. The Wolverines were loose on Thursday and dancing before practice. That doesn't mean they aren't taking Alabama seriously.
This team just knows how to get its work done, while also not letting the moment get too big. It's important not to let the pressure get to you.
For an upset, Michigan would need to have an off night. A cold night from the 3-point li is something to worry about, but the Wolverines look confident.
That's certainly better than a team that is feeling the pressure of the moment. Michigan is the betting favorite to win it all, but they just look like a team having fun together.
Hopefully, the fun continues all the way to the Final Four.
