2. The turnover issues remain unsettling
In the first two games of the season Michigan basketball had 16 turnovers each. Friday night they had 16 in the first half. That's 53 in the first three games. As you would expect they rank near the bottom of the barrel in this category. Cleveland State is the only opponent who had more turnovers than the Wolverines in those three contests.
A trio of Wolverines had four or more of them in the dozen point win. Sam Walters, Phat Phat Brooks and Justin Pippen were the only three who didn't give it away to the Horned Frogs. Wolf has 15 turnovers through the first three, which is the most on the team so far.
The counterpoint to that would be that these guys have not played together very long and are learning on the fly. You can make the case that they should be 3-0 too. The upcoming schedule for the rest of the month is not daunting, but Michigan basketball has to work on ball security and its passing in practice.
