Only nine games are left in the regular season, and the Wolverines are on the precipice of first place in the Big Ten. On Wednesday they shrugged off a reeling Oregon squad for their sixth conference win by four points or less. This weekend, Oregon travels up the highway to East Lansing trying to snap out of a five out of its last six-game losing streak. Michigan basketball strolls into Assembly Hall seeking its first win there since January of 2022.

In the past three matchups Oregon has beaten the maize and blue by a total of five points. It didn't make up for the football loss, but Ty Haywood's commitment made it a glowing day to be a Michigan Wolverine.

So here are three of the takeaways from Michigan basketball toppling of Oregon in Crisler.

1. Danny Wolf registered his 10th double-double of the season

Remarkably Wolf just about had a double-double in the first 20 minutes of play. He highlighted an 11-0 run late in the first with the play of the night. A step-back 3-pointer confused his defender and he hit nothing but the bottom of the net. Moments later he drilled one from even deeper to stretch the lead to nine.

The 7-foot athlete notched 13 double-doubles as a sophomore at Yale. He's on pace to break that with less than a month left in the regular season for Michigan basketball.

As mentioned in the broadcast, Wolf is one of two Big Ten players who average 10 plus points and rebounds on a nightly basis. Andy Katz interviewed Wolf in the postgame and said he looked a little like Larry Bird on that ankle-breaking jumper over TJ Bamba for three.

Wolf only had one turnover on Wednesday night too. That's been his Achilles heel all year long. On the defensive side, the Wolverines capitalized off of Oregon's mistakes with twice as many points as turnovers.
