2. Michigan's last top 10 win came against Purdue

It was three years ago on February 10, 2022, to be exact. The two schools met just five days prior with Purdue escaping by six. Michigan basketball exacted their revenge behind all five starters who snagged double figures in a 24-point victory at home. Caleb Furst was a freshman on that team and on Tuesday he fouled out with the same number of points as he did in both losses.

That year, Michigan basketball was expected to compete for a spot in the final four. Back to the present day and no one really knew what to expect from this year's squad. Just making it to the big dance would have been a success in Dusty May's first rodeo in Ann Arbor. It turns out these Wolverines may have a realistic chance at visiting the sport's final destination in April after all.

However on Tuesday inside Crisler, it was Purdue who was the team who blew a double-digit lead. That was Michigan's problem in four of their five losses. That adversity, combined with the other handful of games that Michigan has won by two possessions or less repaid them for their patience on Tuesday evening. Purdue, on the other hand, has lost two of their three conference games by three points or less.
