3. Michigan's offense monopolizes the Big Ten in first half points scored

It's hard to understand how this still exists in Michigan's favor after Friday night's debacle. Michigan tied a season-low in the first 20 minutes and had only 30 in the Northwestern win a week ago. These last three outings were the first three-game stretch all year that Michigan basketball hasn't scored more than 40 plus since the Wisconsin win.

Dusty May's offense went 10 games straight where they scored over 40 in every first half. They went 7-3 during that span and were about three buckets away from going unbeaten. Vlad Goldin benefited the most with 38 alone in the UCLA victory.

Friday's Purdue loss could have been the wake up call that Michigan desperately needed after Minnesota's perplexing buzzer beater. On Monday, with the season on the brink of collapsing, Michigan put destiny in their own hands. Coach May said afterwards that this group can "take off if they stay with the process." They have a feasible schedule ahead that can keep them in contention for a championship that no one saw coming except for May himself.
