Michigan and Dusty May among the top schools for Kansas transfer oozing with potential

The Kansas Jayhawks have lost a few potential stars to the transfer portal, and one is unsurprisingly eying the National Champions for his next team.

Fresh off winning the National Championship, the Michigan Wolverines are enjoying their title run, but they aren't necessarily taking their foot off the gas quite yet.

With the transfer portal opening just one day after the National Championship game, Michigan head coach Dusty May and his staff immediately dove into recruiting mode, and it's already paying off.

Bryson Tiller, a former Kansas Jayhawk, entered the portal on Tuesday and has already narrowed his search to four schools, including none other than the Wolverines (I mean, who wouldn't want to play for the defending National Champions).

Alongside the Wolverines atop Tiller's list for potential landing spots are the Arizona Wildcats, Miami Hurricanes, and Missouri Tigers.

While Tiller didn't fully find his footing during his true-freshman season at Kansas, he has seemingly boundless potential. He wasn't one of the stars of the show for the Jayhawks, but Tiller still averaged 7.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1,3. blocks, and 1.0 assists per game while starting in 31 of 35 of their matchups.

May has a little experience turning underrated and overlooked players into, well, National Champions. Just look at Yaxel Lendeborg, who transferred to Michigan from UAB, or Morez Johnson Jr., who hardly ever started during his freshman season with the Illinois Fighting Illini just a year ago.

Sure, Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd just led the Wildcats to the Final Four, but the Wolverines walloped them to advance to the title game.

Yes, the Hurricanes have some promise with a young head coach, and the Tigers are in the ever-present SEC, but Michigan and May just won it all. How could a potential star like Tiller pass up on the opportunity to win it all himself?

From recent reports, it sounds as though Tiller isn't anywhere near making his final decision quite yet, but a commitment to the Wolverines sure does sound nice.
