September 21st, 2024 was the first time ever that Michigan stadium experienced the majesty of a maize and blue stripe out environment. It worked out gloriously, especially in the waning seconds. This time the athletics department should do the same for the biggest game of the year in November and make history.
Michigan patrons have showed up in droves before in these special, promotional situations. They have successfully come together to create maize outs in the past and a little cold wouldn't scare them away, even with the detestable Buckeyes raiding the Big House. Ticket sales would vault through the roof with so much on the line in a rambunctious atmosphere.
USC's entrance into the Big Ten was a memorable one, but not for winning. Last year's attendance for that USC event was listed at 110,702. Make the OSU war a night game, and a record-breaking crowd would be like a scene reminiscent of the 2006 No. 1 vs No. 2 classic that was pandemonium in Columbus.
If folks are not wearing maize or blue, then volunteers can hand out free shirts at the gates. It would have to be mandatory that all Michigan supporters have something on that is connected to the section that they are sitting in. Maize or blue for even and odd sections or vice versa. Motivation shouldn't be a problem in this grueling combat. The reward for a win would be an unforgettable storming the field in jubilation.
A maize out is already scheduled for the Wisconsin battle in October. Rumblings of a blue out never materialized, but that would be a sight to see with 110,000 plus people packed inside of Michigan stadium. Therefore the case for a stripe out on Senior day makes total sense and would be another tradition that makes this rivalry and college football the greatest sport in America.
