Michigan football fans already had reason to be excited about Savion Hiter this spring. Positive buzz was already leaking out of Ann Arbor, but on Tuesday, Kyle Whittingham poured gasoline on the fire.
In his first press conference of spring ball, the first-year Michigan head coach, Kyle Whittingham, didn't hold back when talking about five-star running back Savion Hiter,
According to Chris Balas of The Wolverine, Whittingham said that Hiter is going to be, "special."
Kyle Whittingham says today that Savion Hiter is going to be special. Can already tell. Says QB Tommy Carr standing out as qb 2.

5-star Savion Hiter is going to be special says Kyle Whittingham
Hello.
That's not usually something you hear from a head coach right away. It also doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that Hiter is going to be special. I've been pounding that table on the internet for a long time. But the fact that he's getting those reviews early is a good sign.
Michigan football fans will want to see it with their own two eyes. They will get that chance next month during the spring game, which won't be on tape delay. Thank goodness that didn't become a thing.
Hiter is the reason I wasn't concerned when Justice Haynes entered the portal. Hell, he is the reason Haynes entered the portal. He can be the home-run hitter Justice was last season. They couldn't afford both, and it was smart to bring the guy in who is a true freshman, without any tread on the tires.
Michigan has signed highly-touted backs before, and it didn't always work out. There are no guarantees in high school recruiting. Hiter feels like the closest possible thing. He looks like a program-changing running back, and Whittingham's early reviews should have fans optimistic about his chances of making an impact early in his Michigan football career.
