Jason Beck's injury update shouldn't be a cause for concern for Michigan's offense

With fall camp coming to a close soon, Michigan has been fortunate to get this far without any major injuries. Even still, guys are going to get a little banged up here and there, maybe miss a day or two, and that is what offensive coordinator Jason Beck talked about Thursday afternoon.

Beck was asked about injuries during his media availability, specifically about Savion Hiter and Andrew Babalola. While his vague answer might cause some concern among Michigan fans, there really is no reason to panic because players are going to have minor setbacks, especially in fall camp.

"Relatively healthy. There's always, you know, some stuff here and there where a guy may miss a practice or two, or little tweaks," Beck said. "To this point, there hasn't been any major things coming up, but that's just the day-by-day, and we will see what's on the injury report and go from there."

Beck never specifically spoke about Hiter or Babalola, the two players asked about in the question, but his mention of the injury report could raise some questions. Babalola is coming off an injury from last season, so if he is sitting out a practice occasionally, it would make sense. Hiter is also dealing with college competition for the first time in practice right now, so tweaks could happen.

No major injuries have been reported out of Michigan fall camp

The Wolverines went into camp with a few guys coming back from major injuries last season. The fact that no one has gone down with a major injury yet, *knock on wood*, is big for Michigan. If there are any rumors of Hiter or Babalola dealing with injuries, no one within the Michigan program is sharing any information.

Some players coming back from major injuries in 2025 are Rod Moore, John Henry Daley, and Andrew Bababola. Moore is coming off a torn ACL and meniscus back in the 2024 season that continued to trouble him in 2025, shutting down his season early with a clean-out surgery. Daley tore his Achilles tendon with two games left in the regular season in 2025, and Babalola is coming off an ACL tear at the end of Michigan's 2025 fall camp.

The progression of those guys has been positive in camp, with Moore even sharing that he is no longer on a snap count that Whittingham had him on when he started camp. When it comes to injury news, it's been relatively positive for Michigan, more so in terms of the guys mentioned above performing well.

Getting through fall camp relatively healthy will be big for Michigan as they face a daunting schedule and need all the talent on their roster at full strength to have a shot at performing well.
