Rayshaun Benny

Stats never tell the entire story for a defensive tackle. That was true for Rayshaun Benny in 2024. He often gets overlooked because of how good Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant were.

Yet, I won't be shocked at all if Benny is a first-round pick next April. At 6-foot-4, 296 pounds, Benny is coming off a season that saw him notch 29 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and four quarterback hurries.

In the last two games, Benny was credited with three tackles and a pass breakup. If you watched the games, though, you'd know he was an absolute force, especially against Alabama.

Outside of Underwood, Benny might be the most indispensable player on the roster. There are some other great pieces, but Benny is much better than he gets credit for being, and he'll show that this season.

By the end of the 2025 campaign, he might be recognized as the best defensive tackle in the Big Ten.
