Donaven McCulley
You need guys who win one-on-one matchups, especially in the red zone. Michigan didn't have many of those guys last season.
They also didn't have a quarterback capable of getting the ball to the guys who were capable very often. That problem was resolved with the signing of Underwood.
Michigan also took steps to take care of the issue at wide receiver by landing two former tranfers with at least 644 yards receiving in 2023. It's still risky, but don't forget that Oklahoma was pushing hard for McCulley who decided to redshirt early after some injuries forced him down the depth chart at Indiana.
McCulley is wearing the No. 1 this season for a reason. He will be Bryce Underwood's No. 1 option, and at 6-foot-5, there really isn't another player on the roster like him. Jamar Browder has flashed, but it's too early to say he can contribute as a freshman.
Fred Moore is a breakout candidate, but McCulley should see most of the targets this season. He had two games with over 96 yards in Big Ten play back in 2023, so if he stays healthy, he'll give Michigan football a legit No. 1 caliber wide receiver.
