Michigan football is making a real effort to land some blue-chip talent at the wide receiver position in the 2026 class and it's easy to see why.

The Wolverines have a generational talent at quarterback in Bryce Underwood, the five-star signee from the 2025 class. Underwood flipped from LSU, and the in-state prospect signed with Michigan football.

Underwood is part of the "unbelievable talent" in the QB room according to Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore. Moore also said the Wolverines want to build on that and surely, they want to build on the wide receiver talent too.

Michigan is in the mix for a pair of five-star wideouts in the 2026 class. Another highly-touted wideout that should be on the radar of Wolverines fans is four-star wide receiver Gordon Sellars.

Michigan football a serious contender for blue-chip wideout Gordon Sellars

Sellars is 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, and out of Providence Day in Charlotte. That's the same school that Michigan football players Jadyn Davis and Channing Goodwin are from.

Goodwin and Davis signed as part of the 2024 class. So there is a familarity there between the Michigan staff and the school.

As it stands, Sellars is ranked No. 203 overall in the 2026 class according to the 247 Spots composite rankings. He's 33rd among wide receivers. He doesn't have any crystal ball projections yet, but it's clear that this will be a competitive recruitment.

South Carolina has hosted Sellars for three visits according to On3.com. The Gamecocks will also host him for an official visit this summer. Michigan football will also get an official visit, as will Georgia and Clemson. All four programs are listed as "warm" on his 247 Sports profile.

South Carolina has a slight edge according to the On3 prediction machine. However, Michigan is running second and according to Ethan McDowell of The Wolverine, Michigan has "checked all the boxes" with Sellars.

Michigan football is scheduled to get an official visit on June 20th. That's the last of the four. Clemson will host him on May 30th, followed by South Carolina (June 6) and Georgia (June 13).
