Jayden Denegal's career didn't work out as planned with Michigan football, but the former three-star recruit has found a new home and earned himself a starting job.

Denegal, who is from California, transferred back to his home state to play for the San Diego State Aztecs of the Mountain West Conference.

Denegal played in six games during his Michigan football career. He completed 4-of-5 passes for 50 yards and one career touchdown pass. That was during Michigan's national championship season. He didn't attempt any passes last year.

Pete Nakos of On3.com reported on Wednesday that Denegal won the job. That's a positive thing for him, and it's good to see the former Wolverine getting an opportunity to play. That's what the transfer portal is supposed to be about.

Bryce Underwood highlights during Michigan football fall camp

Michigan football posted a video on Tuesday with a fall camp update. Head coach Sherrone Moore also spoke to the media, and one of the things he talked about was the quarterback job.

Moore said a decision would be announced on August 25th, the Monday of the first game week. Everyone expects Bryce Underwood to be the starting quarterback. It just needs to be made official, and in the video released, there are some clips of Underwood doing his thing.

Here's the full video released by Michigan football, along with Sherrone Moore summing up what he's learned about the Wolverines thus far.

"I love this team. I love the passion. Love the energy and the togetherness," Moore said. He also said Michigan football would be tough and explosive.

Underwood will help with that, once he's officially named the starter on August 25th.
