Dusty May isn't at Michigan anymore, but that doesn't mean that he can't still throw shade at the Wolverines' fiercest rival. While Ohio State doesn't compare to Michigan on the basketball court, the rivalry still runs deep, and May just took a shot at the Buckeyes.
The NBA season is almost upon us, which means Michigan fans will see the former Wolverines head coach making his professional debut with the Dallas Mavericks. With the season nearly here, media days are rolling out. May got to speak to the media on Monday, and of course, he is still getting questions about his Michigan days.
One reporter asked if May will miss the Ohio State rivalry, and his response is one that fans will go nuts for.

Now, May did say he had two regrets from his time at Michigan, and that was leaving with a .500 record against Michigan State, arguably the Wolverines' other biggest rival, especially in basketball. His other regret was losing the only matchup against Duke, which came last season, a game many believed was a National Championship preview.
Dusty May is about to embark on his first NBA season
While Michigan fans may not have been happy with the way everything went down with May leaving Ann Arbor for the NBA, it is over and done with, and now he is about to begin his first season with the Mavs. The bright side of it all was that at least he didn't go to another college program.
May is taking over a program that once looked like it could really compete for championships behind young star Luka Doncic, but after injuries and a trade to the L.A. Lakers, the team took a nose dive. May has a tall task ahead of him to bring this team back to its title-contending days, but he has the talent of 2025-26 NBA Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg on his squad, as well as a familiar face from his Michigan days.
With their first pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, the Mavs selected Morez Johnson Jr., a key player on May's squad that won the National Championship last season. With Flagg and Johnson, May also has the talent of Kyrie Irving, P.J. Washington, and Dereck Lively II.
It will probably take some time for May to get comfortable at the NBA level coming from the college ranks, but given how quickly he turned the program around at Michigan, he could see success sooner than people think.
