Michigan football has done a great job of retaining some key players over the past few days, even though Cole Sullivan committed to Oklahoma.

The talented linebacker transferred, but the Wolverines reeled back in two starting offensive linemen from last season, Jake Guarnera and Andrew Sprague, along with cornerback Zeke Berry. Jordan Marshall and Andrew Marsh have also agreed to terms for next season. Bryce Underwood, too.

If the Wolverines didn't add any other players, they would have a talented offense. There is still work to do, and some players need to be added, such as at wide receiver.

There are some needs on defense, too. Defensive line is a clear one. Linebacker is too, without Sullivan in the fold, but the pass rush needs to be upgraded. Derrick Moore, who had 10 sacks last season, is out of eligibility. So is TJ Guy. Nate Marshall is a former top-50 recruit expected to take a leap. Dominic Nichols is another player who saw plenty of snaps last season.

However, John Henry Daley the former Utah defensive end, who had 11.5 sacks last season to go along with 17.5 tackles for loss last season, is visiting Michigan football right now, according to Josh Henschke of the Maize and Blue Review. Henry Daley would fill a huge need and has ties to head coach Kyle Whittingham, but also Michigan EDGE coach Lewis Powell, who had another former charge, Jonah Lea'ea of Utah, enter the transfer portal on Wednesday night.

At some point, Michigan needs to make some impactful additions from the portal. Henry Daley would be a good place to start.
