With the 2026 Michigan football roster set for Kyle Whittingham and Michigan football, the focus now turns to the recruiting trail.
The Wolverines have been busy in the 2027 class, with a bunch of new offers going out. Whittingham and his staff has made stops all over the country, too.
Michigan football is also working to get some top priorities on campus, one of which includes a four-star defensive back Tavares Harrington out of the Chicago area.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound defensive back seemed to have Notre Dame written all over him; however, according to Steve Wiltfong of Rivals, Michigan football is among four contenders emerging to land the blue-chip defensive back. Joining the Wolverines in the mix are Nebraska, Alabama, and Georgia.
Ethan McDowell, citing a report from Wiltfong, also posted on X that Harrington will be coming to Ann Arbor for a multi-day visit in March.

Michigan football offered under the previous coaching staff, so the spring visit would allow Harrington a chance to spend more time with Whittingham, new defensive coordinator Jay, and other new assistants on staff.
Rivals has Harrington as a safety. Ranked 180th overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings for the 2027 class, the ninth-ranked recruit in the state of Illinois has 41 offers, which is a who's who of college football. Ohio State, Notre Dame, Indiana, etc. All the big names have offered.
Yet, the Wolverines, who have had a growing presence in Illinois, could be in a good spot, especially if the spring visit goes well, and they can get Harrington back on the schedule for an offical visit this summer.
