This is a moment that Michigan fans everywhere have been waiting for.

After all the adversity, after all the ups and downs, Michigan has won it all, taking down Dan Hurley and UConn 69-63 with the glory on the line. This is the first national title for Michigan on the hardwood since 1989. Yup, 37 years of pain have been wiped away in a flash.

As you might have been able to guess, the Michigan players were over the moon right after the final whistle, with head man Dusty May smiling from ear to ear too. He immediately spoke with Tracy Wolfson after winning it all and his postgame interview has made things even more awesome for Michigan fans everywhere. To do this in Year 2? Just incredible.

Dusty May was overcome with emotion after helping Michigan win the national championship

"First of all, I want to thank all the people that poured in to everyone in our locker room," May told Tracy Wolfson. "We're not here without the love, support and coaching from everybody before us. And I want to shout out all of the former Michigan players - this one is for them."

Anyone else getting a little choked up at seeing those words from the Michigan leader? Time and time again this season, plenty of people were ready to write this team off, especially after the midseason loss to Duke.

However, this group never stopped believing and everyone united together as one. Yaxel Lendeborg was a perfect example of someone who was ready to give his all for the squad, as he played through an ankle injury and an MCL sprain to suit up in this one.

Lendeborg was far from his best, which led to him calling himself out at halftime, but he kept pushing and made quite the difference in the second half. Speaking of making a difference, Elliot Cadeau, a UNC transfer, was a floor general and arguably the most important player on the hardwood for the Big Ten side.

This is a moment Lendeborg, May and Cadeau will never forget, but that's what can be said for the entire Michigan locker room. This is also something the Michigan faithful have been waiting on since '89. Ann Arbor is going to be one big party for weeks, maybe even months. Enjoy this, Wolverines fans - this is a triumph you've all fully deserved, with May and Co. delivering such a special memory that no one can ever take away.
