We can all start referring to Dusty May as Recruiter No. 1 after the Michigan Wolverines' head basketball coach brought in the top transfer portal class of the year, and his current class of 2025 recruits continues to trend upwards.

Currently, his May's overall recruiting class is a top-five group of prospects as he and the Wolverines look to grow on their success from his first season with the program.

Who has Dusty May recruited to Michigan?

  • No. 1 transfer - Yaxel Lendeborg, UAB
  • No. 17 HS prospect - Trey McKenney, five-star guard prospect
  • No. 23 transfer - Morez Johnson Jr., Illinois
  • No. 40 transfer - Aday Mara, UCLA
  • No. 51 transfer - Elliot Cadeau, North Carolina
  • No. 84 HS prospect - Winters Grady, four-star wing prospect

Earning the commitment of the No. 1 transfer in the portal, Yaxel Lendeborg, was huge for May's recruiting efforts, as he also brought in the No. 23 transfer, forward Morez Johnson Jr., No. 40 transfer, center Aday Mara, and No. 51 transfer, guard Elliot Cadeau.

Similarly, the commitments from Trey McKenney, a five-star guard, and Winters Grady, a four-star small forward, did a lot to boost the Wolverines' incoming class of recruits.

As of now, with the No. 1 transfer class and the No. 5 overall class, Michigan is trending in the right direction for the upcoming 2025-26 season. Just last year, the Wolverines finished with a 27-10 overall record for a second-place finish in the Big Ten.

In the postseason, May led Michigan to a win in the Big Ten Championship game over the Wisconsin Badgers, as well as a run to the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen, where the Wolverines lost to top-seeded Auburn.

After their two incredible tournament performances, May and the Wolverines finished at No. 10 in the final AP Top 25 Men’s College Basketball Poll. To put it simply, May is doing exactly what he was hired to do at Michigan.
