Jeff Goodman went on record Thursday, stating that Yaxel Lendeborg may stay in the NBA draft and not come to Michigan. If so, the Wolverines would need to find a replacement for arguably their best player and most prominent transfer pickup. Whatever he decides, Michigan basketball must match or raise in the NIL portion of things. The following is a list of players who are still in the portal and could plug that gaping hole in Michigan's starting lineup.
"With Yaxel Lendeborg, my sources tell me he's very focused and leaning towards staying in the NBA Draft" - @GoodmanHoops

1. Jamir Watkins, Florida State
Watkins flirted with the Wolverines last season before opting for the warmer, sunny temperatures of Florida. Goodman also reported that Michigan is not in touch with Watkins, but if Lendeborg leaves, it would be a titanic void in the rotation that Watkins could fill. He has a year of eligibility left in the tank and is a scorer who is relatable to Lendeborg.
2. Chad Baker Mazara, Auburn
Baker Mazara just entered the portal on Thursday after he had people believing that he was coming back to the Tigers for another final four run. He instantly becomes one of the top players in the process and another name who can step in if Lendeborg skips playing for the maize and blue. May will have to pay top dollar to secure his services. Mazara isn't a consistent basket getter like Lendeborg or Watkins is.
3. RJ Luis Jr., St John's
The academic side of things should not be a problem for Luis, who is honing in on a 4.0. He's been contacted by Michigan State, and according to David Evans of sportscasting.com, Michigan basketball is in it with others following behind. It's not a reputable site that I have heard of, so take it with a grain of salt. Luis will be an instant starter wherever he decides to accept a lucrative offer.
