Dusty May continues to be elite on the recruiting trail as Michigan basketball landed another four-star prospect on Tuesday, this time in the 2026 class.

Quinn Costello, a 6-foot-10 forward out of Boston, Massachusetts, announced his commitment to Michigan basketball over Michigan State, Purdue, North Carolina, Minnesota, Texas, and others. He's ranked 38th overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Costello is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the 2026 class. It wasn't that long ago that he was unranked by some services. However, he won the MVP of the Under Armour Association, according to Dylan Burkhardt of UM Hoops, who wrote this about Costello:

"There aren’t many prospects who had a better summer than Quinn Costello. The 6-foot-10 shooter was unranked and relatively unknown before the spring camp circuit, before exploding onto the national scene with standout performances at Pangos and NBPA Top 100 camps. He immediately surged into the top-100 rankings and then kept climbing through the summer into a top-50 recruit who is ranked as high as 28th at Rivals."

May has an affinity for bigs. That's become clear in his short time with Michigan basketball. He also loves bigs, who can shoot. Costello meets that definition perfectly. More from UMHoops:

"The 3-point shot is a staple of Costello’s game. An impressive 73% of his shot attempts in UAA were threes, and he shot 35% from 3-point range. He also shot 64.4% at the rim — and 98% of his shots were dunks, layups, or 3-point jumpers. There will be no shot selection recalibration needed for Costello."

In addition to landing Costello, Michigan has landed two other 7-footers in the 2025 and 2026 classes. Malick Kordel was added to the roster late, and the 7-foot-2 center is on the 2025-26 roster.

Costello joins 7-foot-3 center Marcus Moller from Spain in the 2026 class. If you include Aday Mara, that's three players who have signed or committed and are 7-foot-1 or taller since the departure of Vlad Goldin. A player like Costello would be perfect to play alongside one of those 7-footers, especially with his ability to shoot the ball and stretch the floor.

Moller is a shooter, too. He will take some time to develop into a Big Ten center, at least defensively. Costello will probably have similar issues but he's got the ability to guard multiple spots. Rebounding and defense should come.

Costello adds elite size and shooting to the frontcourt -- even more of it and the future, with all of these pieces, is really exciting for the Wolverines.
