Colin Cowherd takes absurd shot at J.J. McCarthy that Michigan fans will hate

This take just really doesn't make any sense.

Michigan fans have been patiently waiting for former quarterback J.J. McCarthy to get healthy so that he can ball out for the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately, McCarthy missed out on his rookie season with the Vikings last season due to a torn meniscus in his knee, so both Vikings fans and Wolverines fans had to wait to see all that McCarthy had to offer in the NFL.

Now that the young quarterback is healthy again, he is back out at training camp and has actually been showing great stuff, including some pretty impressive passes. However, it seems like sports media personality Colin Cowherd doesn't seem very impressed with the former Michigan quarterback and even went as far as saying he isn't the type of quarterback everyone says he is.

"J.J. McCarthy, you're going to see it very quickly," Cowherd said on his podcast The Colin Cowherd Podcast. "J.J. McCarthy is a 'C' quarterback. Have you seen J.J. McCarthy's 4th quarter college stats and playing from behind...they're terrible."

Someone may want to tell Cowherd that his take is horrible and truly holds no water. Did he forget that McCarthy led Michigan to a National Championship win that included having an undefeated season? Did he forget that he was a top draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft? Did he forget that he was probably going to be the starter over Sam Darnold last season before he got injured?

It seems like he forgot all of those things, because if he didn't, then he probably wouldn't have said that. McCarthy has now had an entire NFL season to sit and watch and learn not just from other players, but from Darnold, who had an amazing season with the Vikings last year.

Now going into his second training camp, McCarthy is looking better than ever, and no one knows how he will perform under the lights, but Cowherd isn't even giving him the chance to prove that he can perform well.
