We're heading into peak official visit season for the 2026 recruiting class, and Michigan football is set to host a plethora of elite prospects this weekend. While Michigan is hosting many top recruits, one definitely stands out - five-star offensive lineman Felix Ojo. Ranked as the No. 5 recruit in the nation per 247 Sports, Ojo is as good as it gets on the offensive line.

Ojo, a Texas native, is currently viewed as a Texas lean, but that doesn't mean that Michigan is out of it. To truly become a contender here, Michigan will have to do two things that go hand in hand. They'll have to roll out the red carpet and make this a fantastic visit, and they'll have to have serious NIL discussions.

The Wolverines have been hesitant on the NIL trail with the uncertainty surrounding the House settlement and implementation of revenue sharing, and it's hurt them with top prospects. The belief has been that the Wolverines would get serious about NIL during official visits, but that remains to be seen. If the Wolverines want the same level of recruiting success that they saw at the end of last cycle, they'll need to be more aggressive with NIL.

It's likely going to take a massive NIL deal to steal Ojo away from the Longhorns, but it's definitely not unrealistic. We all know that Sherrone Moore values the offensive line, and we saw the Wolverines win over elite lineman Ty Haywood last cycle with an aggressive NIL strategy.

Ojo is set to visit Texas next weekend and Oklahoma the following, so Michigan will have to absolutely hit this visit out of the park if they want a shot. This is one to watch very closely, as Ojo is the type of recruit Michigan could go all in for. And if they do, they've got a pretty good chance of winning. Stay tuned for updates as the weekend develops.
