Michigan football quarterback Bryce Underwood has drawn heaps of praise this spring from players, coaches, and other observers.
The hype train has been working full time. There's a reason for it though. Underwood is special and with the absence of Mikey Keene this spring due to injury, it feels like the starting job is his, meaning Underwood's.
Jadyn Davis has gotten better. It sounds like he's had a good spring, which is important. The Wolverines want his arrow trending up, especially if he's going to be the backup. Keene still sounds like he will be ready for the start of the season, but you never know.
At any rate, Underwood isn't the only freshman getting rave reviews. One of his recruiting classmates, Andrew Babalola, the other five-star signee for Michigan football in the 2025 class, is also having a good spring, at least, according to teammate Evan Link.
Another "freaky" Michigan football freshman
Babalola is the highest-rated offensive tackle signee in the history of Michigan football. The 6-foot-6, 300-pound tackle could be a factor for the Wolverines this season. Link started at right tackle for most of last season outside of the bowl game, when he started at left tackle.
#Michigan OL Evan Link says freshman OL Andrew Babalola has gotten a lot better and got some freaky traits. He also says he’s got a bright future in this program.

He’s taken a step from bowl practice to now.
Link has spent most of the spring at left tackle. He told reporters that he's also played guard and right tackle, so there are plenty of options on the table. Babalola might be able to work his way into the mix. Link said that he's got a "bright future," according to Brice Marich. The former four-star offensive lineman also said that Babalola has some "freaky traits."
Babalola has improved since practicing with Michigan football during bowl week. It remains to be seen if he's ready to be Underwood's blind-side protector this season, but it's good to see the positive progression early in his career.
