The first week of Big Ten women's basketball is in the books, and here's the first edition of our Big Ten Women's basketball power rankings.
1. UCLA 2-0
The #3 Bruins defeated San Diego St. 77-53 and Santa Barbara 87-50. Next up is a Top-10 matchup against #6 Oklahoma on November 10.
2. USC 2-0
#18 USC has the best win in the opening week. The Trojans won their opener against New Mexico State 87-48. They followed that up with a 69-68 victory over #9 NC State. USC will be tested again on November 15 against #2 South Carolina.
3. Maryland 3-0
#10 Maryland had a busy first week winning all three games. 80-26 against Loyola MD, 87-54 against UMBC, and 85-66 against Georgetown. Next up for Maryland is Towson on November 13.
4. Michigan 2-0
#13 Michigan destroyed Canisius by 60 points in the opener. They followed that up with an 84-55 win over Harvard. Next up for the Wolverines is #15 Notre Dame on November 15.
5. Michigan State 2-0
The #23 Spartans beat up on Mercyhurst 125-39 and then Eastern Michigan 92-60. They have Youngstown State next on November 12.
6. Iowa 2-0
#21 Iowa didn’t face much resistance in their two games beating Southern 86-51 and Evansville 119-43. Next for Iowa is Drake on November 13.
7. Ohio State 1-0
The Buckeyes beat Coppin State 88-59. Their next game is against Bellarmine on November 13.
8. Indiana 2-0
80-46 against Lipscomb and 72-56 against UIC for the Hoosiers. Marshall is up next on November 11.
9. Illinois 2-0
The Fighting Illini scored wins against SE Missouri 91-67 and Illinois State 75-65. Oregon State is next for Illinois on November 14.
10. Nebraska 2-0
Much like most teams in the Big Ten, Nebraska blew out both opponents in week one. 103-46 against N’Western State and 80-46 against Samford. Next on the schedule is Creighton on November 12.
11. Oregon 2-0
The Ducks defeated West Georgia 100-59 and Montana 90-47. Grand Canyon is next on November 11.
12. Minnesota 2-0
Minnesota took care of business against North Dakota, 91-47 and Manhattan, 99-36. Minnesota has Marquette next on November 11.
13. Purdue 2-0
The Boilermakers won 67-48 against FDU and 82-67 against Eastern Illinois. Next up is Purdue FW on November 12.
14. Penn State 2-0
Penn State has wins over Bucknell 83-55 and Cincinnati 82-77. Next up is Coppin State on November 12.
15. Northwestern 2-0
Northwestern got by IU Indy 67-64 and then defeated SIUE 64-51. Next up for Northwestern is MD Eastern on November 14.
16. Rutgers 2-1
One of two Big Ten teams to lose in week one. Rutgers started with two wins, 79-50 over Wagner, 64-55 over Quinnipiac before losing to Stony Brook 71-54. Rutgers look to bounce back against Rhode Island on November 13.
17. Washington 1-0
Washington had no trouble against Seattle, winning 90-43. Montana is the next game on November 10.
18. Wisconsin 1-1
The other team to lose. Wisconsin beat Oakland 79-68 before falling to Marquette 65-62. Milwaukee is up next on November 10.
