Gameday Recipe: Smoked Queso
I love a 3:30 kickoff for Michigan. It isn't quite time for dinner, but it's past lunchtime. You will need some type of food to hold you over during the game while you're drinking a beer. We have the perfect gameday snack for you to eat while watching the Wolverines.
Ingredients
Velveeta, and cheese or combination of your choice (mozzarella, cheddar, pepperjack)
Ground beef
Rotel
Green Chiles
Red or white onion
Jalapenos and cilantro
Recipe:
1. Chop and shred all your ingredients. Place them all into a pan that is safe for the smoker.
2. After you chop up your ingredients, cook your ground beef all the way through and crumble it. Add your ground beef to the pan.
3. Preheat your smoker to 250 degrees. Once the smoker is heated, put your pan with all your ingredients into the smoker. Now, you will just wait and watch it all melt together. Continuously check the pan and give it a stir once it starts melting.
4. When you get a consistency that you are happy with, take it out and you are ready to serve. Sprinkle some cilantro on top to finish. If you want a crispy cheese on top, you can throw it in the oven on broil for a few minutes. Use any vessel you would like to eat with the queso. My favorites are Tostitos scoops, or just regular tortilla chips.

Beer of the Week
Mortal Bloom Hazy IPA
Mortal Bloom is a delicious hazy beer from Founders Brewery. It has an ABV of 6.2%. It has tropical notes of pineapple and mango but it is not sweet at all. I hate sweet beers so this is far from that. It does pack a delicious punch with all of it's flavor, though. Mortal Bloom is a favorite in our household. It is the perfect beer to pair with your gameday queso.
Prop Bet of the Week: Justice Haynes anytime touchdown scorer at -135
Nebraska has played Cincinnati, Akron and Houston Christian so far this year. Against those teams, the Cornhusker defense ranks 95th in opponent yards per rush and 81st in opponent rush yards per game. Those rushing attacks are not anywhere near the caliber that they are going to see from Justice Haynes, Jordan Marshall and Michigan.
Haynes has run for 388 yards on 49 attempts, and five touchdowns so far this season. I expect the Michigan offense to be able to move the ball vs the Nebraska defense, and in doing so, Justice Haynes will punch at least one run into the endzone throughout the game. Lock in Justice Haynes as an anytime scorer for some extra money in your pocket. Go Blue!
