Another Justice Haynes injury update that isn't great for Michigan

The Wolverines could be without their star running back on Saturday.

There were plenty of reasons why Michigan lost to USC last Saturday. One of them was the fact that Justice Haynes only got 10 carries due to injury.

His presence wouldn't have made up 18 points. The game might have been closer, though, and there's no doubt that Haynes is currently Michigan's best offensive player.

Bryce Underwood will get there. He's thrown for over 200 yards in consecutive games. There have been ups and downs, but Haynes has been the consistent part of the Michigan football offense, with five consecutive 100-yard games to open the season.

The USC game was the first time Haynes didn't go over 100 yards, or that he didn't rip off at least one explosive run (20 yards or more).

In his press conference on Monday, Sherrone Moore said that he "felt good" about Haynes playing against Washington, a 5-1 team. However, in a radio appearance on "Inside Michigan Football" with Jon Jansen, Moore said that Haynes was questionable, via Clayton Sayfie of The Wolverine.

"Right now, I think he’s questionable. There’s a chance he’ll play. Feel good, but we’ll see as we go through the week," Moore said.

Michigan football running back Justice Haynes is "questionable" for Washington

Moore echoed that he "felt good" about Haynes playing before saying he was "questionable." I would have thought the description of "probable" would be better, but questionable is probably a better reflection of how Haynes feels.

Washington has a stout run defense, allowing just 3.1 yards per attempt. It could be tough sledding for the Wolverines, especially if Haynes isn't able to go.
