An elite haul in the secondary

Michigan football did a great job on all three levels of the defense, landing at least one player ranked in the top 130 on the defensive line, linebacker, and in the secondary.

Yet, Michigan really excelled in the secondary. Even with the loss of Ivan Taylor, who flipped to Alabama, the Wolverines have five defensive backs ranked in the top 205 overall. Jayden Sanders will sign on Thursday.

Elijah Dotson, Jordan Young, and Shamari Earls were flipped from other programs. Earls is a top-100 cornerback who reminds you a little of Will Johnson. Kainoa Winston is another versatile piece and this secondary should be fun to watch in the future.

It's also exactly what the Wolverines are going to need to be able to slow down teams like Ohio State and Oregon in the future. People always talk about how good Michigan's defensive line has been, but the secondary has been equally important and this will keep that pipeline stocked with talent.
